FOR BUSINESSES ALREADY USING ACTIVECAMPAIGN
Keep ActiveCampaign. Add a purpose-built loyalty engine.
Preferred Patron™ connects loyalty and member activity with ActiveCampaign so you can keep the CRM and marketing automation workflows your team already uses while adding points, digital stamp cards, rewards, tiers, cashback, gift cards, wallet access, visit tracking and retention intelligence built specifically for customer loyalty.
The result is more useful customer context inside ActiveCampaign and a stronger loyalty experience outside it. Instead of treating loyalty as another disconnected list, your ActiveCampaign contacts can be enriched with current Preferred Patron™ member and engagement data.
ActiveCampaign is a third-party product. Preferred Patron Loyalty, LLC is not representing an affiliation with or endorsement by ActiveCampaign. Product and company names are used to describe compatibility and integration functionality.
DIRECT ANSWER
What does the Preferred Patron ActiveCampaign integration do?
Preferred Patron™ synchronizes core customer profile information with ActiveCampaign in both directions and publishes selected loyalty context from Preferred Patron™ into ActiveCampaign. That includes Preferred Patron Member ID, point balance, join date and last visit date, in addition to coordinated first name, last name, email and mobile phone information.
The integration also coordinates explicit email subscription state while deliberately keeping Preferred Patron™ authoritative for loyalty SMS consent. In practical terms, ActiveCampaign can gain more loyalty context without becoming the system of record for points, rewards, visits or SMS permission.
THE PRIMARY VALUE
What Preferred Patron adds to ActiveCampaign
ActiveCampaign is built to automate marketing. Preferred Patron™ adds the loyalty engine and member activity needed to make that marketing more connected to repeat-business behavior.
Add real loyalty mechanics
Run points, visit-based programs, digital stamp cards, rewards, tiers, cashback and member recognition without trying to make a general marketing platform become your loyalty ledger.
Enrich the contact record
Bring member ID, current point balance, join date and last visit into ActiveCampaign so marketers can work with loyalty context instead of only static demographics and form data.
Connect marketing to repeat visits
Use loyalty recency and balance context to build ActiveCampaign segments and automations around who just joined, who has not visited recently, or who is close to the next reward.
Extend beyond email
Add the Preferred Patron™ member experience, mobile access, Apple and Google Wallet support, loyalty SMS, gift cards and in-store reward interactions while keeping ActiveCampaign in your broader marketing stack.
TWO WAYS TO START
A direct fit whether ActiveCampaign or Preferred Patron came first
The integration is designed to complement an existing stack rather than force an unnecessary rip-and-replace project.
Keep the platform your marketing team knows.
Add a dedicated loyalty system without giving up the customer journeys, segmentation and campaigns you already operate in ActiveCampaign.
- Add points, punch/stamp, tier, reward and gift-card mechanics.
- Bring loyalty identifiers, balance and visit recency into ActiveCampaign.
- Keep core contact information aligned across both systems.
- Use explicit email consent safely without letting ActiveCampaign overwrite Preferred Patron SMS consent.
- Choose which messages belong in ActiveCampaign and which belong in Preferred Patron™.
Add ActiveCampaign without isolating your loyalty data.
Extend your marketing stack with ActiveCampaign while keeping Preferred Patron™ as the operational source for loyalty, member value and loyalty SMS consent.
- Reduce manual customer imports and disconnected list maintenance.
- Expose selected loyalty fields to ActiveCampaign marketers.
- Coordinate email subscription state using explicit consent signals.
- Retain Preferred Patron™ rewards, promotions, member history and program rules.
- Use reconciliation to recover from missed or delayed provider events.
CURRENT INTEGRATION DATA MAP
What synchronizes between Preferred Patron and ActiveCampaign?
The integration separates general customer identity from loyalty-authoritative fields so each platform owns the data it is best suited to manage.
| Data | Direction | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| First name | Both directions | Keep the customer profile aligned. |
| Last name | Both directions | Keep the customer profile aligned. |
| Email address | Both directions | Coordinate the primary contact identity used for email communication. |
| Mobile phone | Both directions | Coordinate contact data while leaving SMS consent authority in Preferred Patron™. |
| Preferred Patron Member ID | Loyalty to ActiveCampaign | Add a stable loyalty-member identifier to the ActiveCampaign contact. |
| Point balance | Loyalty to ActiveCampaign | Make current loyalty balance available for segmentation and personalization. |
| Join date | Loyalty to ActiveCampaign | Support member-age, welcome and lifecycle logic. |
| Last visit date | Loyalty to ActiveCampaign | Support recency-based retention and win-back logic. |
| Email subscription state | Explicit-state coordination | Honor explicit subscribe/unsubscribe changes without inferring consent from an email address. |
| SMS consent | Preferred Patron authority | ActiveCampaign does not overwrite Preferred Patron loyalty SMS consent. |
Important: the current integration is intentionally focused on customer identity, selected loyalty context and consent coordination. It does not copy the complete Preferred Patron transaction ledger into ActiveCampaign.
HOW THE INTEGRATION WORKS
Event-driven when possible. Reconciled when necessary.
The design does more than push a one-time CSV. It maintains durable mappings, processes changes and uses reconciliation so customer data can recover when provider events are late or missed.
A member or contact changes
Preferred Patron™ or ActiveCampaign detects a relevant customer, profile or consent change.
The integration resolves identity
A durable mapping connects the Preferred Patron member with the corresponding ActiveCampaign contact.
Authoritative data is refreshed
The integration reads current state instead of assuming a webhook payload contains the complete customer record.
The successful checkpoint advances
Durable checkpoints and retry-safe processing help avoid silently skipping changes when a provider or network request fails.
PRACTICAL ACTIVECAMPAIGN USE CASES
Turn loyalty context into more relevant automation
Once Preferred Patron™ loyalty fields are available on the contact, ActiveCampaign teams can use them as building blocks for segmentation, personalization and customer journeys.
Reward progress messaging
Segment members by current point balance and tailor messages around progress toward the next reward or loyalty milestone.
Win-back and recency
Use last visit date as customer context for recency segments, lapsed-customer journeys and return reminders.
Member lifecycle
Distinguish newly enrolled members from established members for welcome, education and anniversary-oriented messaging.
Consistent identity
Maintain a direct loyalty-member reference on the ActiveCampaign contact to support cleaner integration, troubleshooting and personalization workflows.
The important distinction: loyalty context, not a duplicated loyalty database
Preferred Patron™ remains responsible for calculating points, interpreting visits, determining rewards and operating the loyalty program. ActiveCampaign receives the selected context it needs for marketing. This keeps the integration useful without creating two competing loyalty ledgers.
WHY ADD A LOYALTY PLATFORM AT ALL?
Preferred Patron brings the customer-value layer that sits underneath the campaign.
Marketing automation can decide when to communicate. A loyalty platform must also know what a member earned, what they can redeem, how a visit qualifies, which tier they are in, whether stored value exists and what experience should happen at the business itself.
That is the role Preferred Patron™ adds to an ActiveCampaign stack.
BUILT FOR A DURABLE BUSINESS INTEGRATION
More than a field mapper
The integration is designed for long-running synchronization, not just a one-time contact import.
Encrypted credentials
ActiveCampaign API credentials are stored encrypted and used server-side. Secret credential values are not returned through the normal merchant status interface.
Signed webhook validation
Inbound ActiveCampaign webhook requests are signature-validated before they are accepted for durable processing.
Reconciliation and retries
Scheduled reconciliation and durable checkpoints provide a recovery path when webhook delivery, provider calls or network requests are interrupted.
Loop suppression
Origin-aware processing prevents Preferred Patron™-generated ActiveCampaign updates from being mistaken for a new external change and endlessly bouncing back.

ACTIVECAMPAIGN INTEGRATION FAQ
Questions businesses ask before connecting loyalty and marketing automation
Does Preferred Patron replace ActiveCampaign?
Not automatically. There is meaningful overlap between the two platforms, particularly around email, SMS, customer segmentation, contact management and marketing automation. Preferred Patron™ includes built-in email and SMS, customer groups and segmentation, triggered and lifecycle campaigns, campaign reporting, retention automation and loyalty promotions. A business does not need ActiveCampaign simply to communicate with loyalty members or automate core retention campaigns.
Where Preferred Patron™ goes much deeper is the loyalty relationship itself: points, visits, digital stamp cards, rewards, tiers, cashback, gift cards, member status, purchase and visit history, loyalty-specific promotions, mobile member experiences, Apple and Google Wallet, redemption activity and the rules that determine what a customer earns and receives.
ActiveCampaign extends further into general-purpose CRM and marketing and sales workflows, including sales pipelines, deals and opportunity tracking, tasks and broader cross-channel messaging such as WhatsApp. For businesses already using those capabilities, the integration lets each platform play to its strengths: Preferred Patron operates the loyalty and retention program while ActiveCampaign can continue to manage broader CRM, sales and marketing workflows.
If your needs center mainly on loyalty, retention, email and SMS, segmentation and rewards, Preferred Patron™ may cover much of what you need on its own. If you also need broader sales CRM and cross-channel marketing workflows, keeping ActiveCampaign alongside Preferred Patron can make sense.
What customer data syncs between Preferred Patron and ActiveCampaign?
First name, last name, email and mobile phone are mapped in both directions. Preferred Patron™ also publishes Preferred Patron Member ID, point balance, join date and last visit date to ActiveCampaign as loyalty context.
Is the integration really two-way?
Yes for the core customer profile and coordinated email-consent workflow. Loyalty-authoritative values such as member ID, point balance, join date and last visit originate in Preferred Patron™ and flow to ActiveCampaign.
Can I use Preferred Patron loyalty data inside ActiveCampaign automations?
Yes. Once the loyalty fields are present on the ActiveCampaign contact, they can be used as customer context for segmentation, personalization and automation logic supported by your ActiveCampaign account. Common examples include point-balance segments, join-date lifecycle messaging and last-visit win-back journeys.
How are email unsubscribe and resubscribe changes handled?
The integration treats email consent as explicit state rather than inferring permission from the existence of an email address. Explicit unsubscribe signals take precedence over older subscribe signals; a later explicit opt-in is required to restore subscribed status.
Can ActiveCampaign change Preferred Patron SMS consent?
No. Preferred Patron™ remains authoritative for loyalty SMS consent. The contact's phone number can be synchronized, but ActiveCampaign is not permitted to directly subscribe or unsubscribe the member from Preferred Patron SMS.
Does Preferred Patron send every purchase or transaction line to ActiveCampaign?
No. The current ActiveCampaign integration focuses on customer identity, selected loyalty context and consent coordination. Preferred Patron™ remains the system of record for loyalty transactions, point calculations, rewards and redemptions.
Can an existing Preferred Patron client add ActiveCampaign?
Yes. Existing Preferred Patron™ clients can add ActiveCampaign for CRM, email and marketing automation while continuing to use Preferred Patron™ for loyalty rules, rewards, member activity, loyalty SMS and program operations.
Do we need custom code just to connect the two systems?
The Preferred Patron™ integration is built as a direct server-to-server connection using ActiveCampaign's API credentials and Preferred Patron's integration platform. The exact onboarding steps depend on the account and program configuration; businesses with additional custom workflows can also use the broader Preferred Patron REST API.
